Hi
I'm in the hunt either for or plans for a mount for a sony g50, it would be great if I could find an original kit as I think it would fit my existing mount that i use with my vph-1020 any pointers would be muchly appreciated
Cheers
Andrew
(also, any idea what availability of new/replacment tubes is like for the g50's? - i have a life time supply of sd-187s but sadly that wont help when the g50s tubes wear out lol)

Double-check the mount situation... I'd be very surprised if the mount for the D50 would in any way work with the mount you're using for your 1020. For instance, the 12xx, G70, and G90 all use completely different, incompatible mounts.

what i'm looking at is the 1020 has a pair of pop up hooks that slip over a pair or horizontal bolts, the d50's factory ceiling mount it a flat piece of steel the has had each end of it bent up (that can slip over horizontal bolts) and then hock formed, they appear to be the same separation at that of the 1020, although the d50s mount is designed with an extra set of fixings to set the angle from the horizontal plane (this plate is then bolted to the bottom of the projector useing about 6 bolts) I dont think this would prohibit it from fitting over the old 1020 mount thought (you can see what i am talking about if you pull down the manuals curt has for the installation of each of them)
Cheers for your help

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. The problem is, every one I've looked into were all different sizes. The G70's mount is wider (lateral spacing between the two hooks) than the 12xx mount, and the G90's mount is wider than the G70's mount.
I guess it's possible that the D50 and 1020 mount have the same spacing, but I'd be amazed if it did. I'm just suggesting you verify that the dimension you referred to is the same on both mounts. I don't know one way or the other, but I'll be surprised if it will work.
