Glycol contamination..
The actual grid is well focused and defined. The glow is either a tube or glycol - what does the Glycol look like?

I think the focus looks OK but the halo looks just like what happens when the coolant gets yellowed and cloudy. Since it's behind a green tinted C element, you won't be able to see the color change but the murkiness should be evident by lowering the contrast and looking into the lens at close range.
This same thing is slowly happening to my own machine. But I've got upgrades to do in a couple of weeks so I'll deal with it all at once.

yes the Focus board is fine, I had it here and tested/worked on it. It is possible to replace the Glycol with the machine on the ceiling isn't it?
You can see how yellow it is even in the picture.

Were the L/C chambers taken apart and cleaned, or just flushed and re-filled?
If not disassembled, some contaminant could have remained in the chamber?

They were all taken apart and cleaned.

It is hard to tell from a photo because it could be over exposed, but in the photo it looks like the green is being driven too hard. Are the magnetics well setup and is the contrast below 60?

The grid lines are clean and sharp. Focus isn't the problem here. There's contamination in the optical path. It's most likely to be murky glycol but it could be a dirty lens element, too.
