hello everyone,

been so long i couldn't remember my password

i need a little help

my ECP 3100 is displaying two distinct halves directly divided in the center of the screen, left side being brighter than right

did i hit a wrong button to bring about this split screen? Crying or Very sad

Do the test patterns do it too. (oops, 1 test pattern:)


THere is a modification for this I believe, not sure if it's documented here though. It should be in the archives in the avsforum though.

I seem to remember seeing something regarding "split screen" in my service manual but can't find the reference as yet

i'll keep searching tomorrow

I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to, I was actually looking for it myself:

Refered to it as the ECP "internal pluge pattern"

i still seem to remember doing something in the past that brought this "split screen" look into effect before, and was able to turn it off. no luck this time yet.....

Turn up the contrast perhaps? Or adjust pots R1 and R5 on the waveform generator board.

pulled NEC scan converter out of line, replaced with runco branded converter that's exactly the same, problem solved. might have been a bad bnc cable connection, will swap them back tomorrow to check.

Good to hear you solved it Thumbs Up

Interesting tidbit about this fix though. My 4500 will only display the 1/2 bright image when no source is on, otherwise I see this and my card isn't modded:

reinstallled NEC SC and vertical split with light/dark halves back. swithced bact to runco sc, split gone.
