|
|
Hi, I recently acquired a Sony VPH-1031QM which appears to be in good condition apart from the fact that it seems to have fungus growing in the coolant for the blue tube and this seems to be causing the picture to sometimes look very hazy and unclear. I have been researching how I can remove the tube from the projector and replace the coolant with a mixture of fresh ethylene glycol and glycerin. However, I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me how much ethylene glycol I would likely need to get a hold of in order to make up enough coolant for a 75% glycol / 25% glycerin mixture to refill just the one tube.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the helpful info I've read over those two pages and I was thinking I would probably just try the method of just using CLR first and see if I can clear out most of the fungus with that otherwise if that doesn't get it all I might see if I'm brave enough to try the other method of cutting off the glass and resealing it.

I've never had a case where the CLR method doesn't work. The trick is to swish it around for 10 minutes.
Use gloves or make sure that you have no cuts on your hand, as it will sting if you get CLR on your hand.....
