Hi,
Sorry for what is going to be a long post but describing everything I saw and what I did takes some time.

So my NEC 9PG+ doesn't like to run anymore. Now here is the long version:
When I first turn on the projector I don't get any error codes, just the regular 00 but there are a bunch of thin horizontal lines of distortion that are the entire width of the screen. These lines seem to jump all over the screen and effect the on screen menus as well as the actual picture. As the projector starts to warm up the number of lines decreases as well as the speed at which they jumping around. As the projector warms up more you can then tell that these horizontal lines are actually just moving up the screen very quickly instead of randomly jumping around. After about 10 minutes of being on the lines disappear. At about this point the projector goes between recognizing and not recognizing my impute. Alignment, convergence, and image size all change. The small image is when it recognizes my impute that I had previously set up. It goes to a more full screen image when it seems to fail to recognize the impute. The projector display the name of impute on the smaller image and I can pull it up in the menu but when it flips over to larger image it doesn't display anything. Also of note is that my remote doesn't do anything when it is displaying the larger image. I can't go into any setting or really do anything with the remote other than turn off the projector. After flipping back and forth between the smaller and larger images it settles and stays on the larger image after about 3 minutes. I can still no longer do anything with the remote.
After another 10 minutes the projector turns itself off. The error code display is now alternating between 00 and E0.

I tried to look up E0 but it doesn't seem to exist. I turned the projector back on, disabled the point board in the menu, shut the projector back off, removed the point board and turned the projector back on.

No more distorting lines on the screen but after only 6 minutes the projector turns itself off with an E0 error code.

I then disconnected the convergence board and turned the projector back on. After 5 minutes it turned itself off again with the same E0 alternating with 00 error code.

I reconnected the convergence board and disconnected the focus board. After 5 minutes of being on the same thing happens.

I tried reseating the system, control, and wave boards with no change.

So any ideas on what the problem might be or anything that I can do to narrow down the issue? I don't have the money to buy another projector at this point so I'd love to fix or replace a single board if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Isn't F0 a stopped fan not E0? Also, wouldn't it detect that right away isn't of waiting for the projector to warm up? I'll check all the fans in the morning anyways.

E0 is fan stopped on an Xtra (F0 on a PG I think, dunno about a plus).

It sounds like it needs a new def board.

My statement is out of the 6100/9100 manual. I dont guess.

If a fan is not running up to speed it may not trip the code immediately which could also be causing a board to ever heat. Of course the symptom wouldn't be there cold.

Could be deflection board but could also be pwr supply or HV issue. Could also be other. Hard to say. Have to hunt it down.

TV/Projector: All of them!

Sounds like a bad system or wave board. I haven't seen the EO problem, but a bad system or wave board can cause all sorts of strange problems.

Note: Leave the system and wave board too long, and they might not be repairable, I'd send them in ASAP.

(no, not a cheap sales pitch, I'm serious!)
