Hi, I have 2 data 701s and a sony D50. The D50 is my main pj and the 701s are gpnna be sold off when I get round to fitting a set of 8->9 rated tubes on one of them.
Question is... are the lenses between the 701 and D50 compatible and if so, which would be better ? I'm guessing both use hybrid glass / plastic lenses but if there's an easy upgrade here then I may as well make a swap if poss.
Thanks.

Someone else will jump in here because I can't fully remember but I believe PT-65's are better than HD-6's. PT-65's came on SOny 12xx series projectors but not all of them.

701s datas should have HD145, focus would be better than in hd6.
Those are straight swap, but throw is different.
There is color filtered versions (red/green tint) and non color filtered of HD145. Can't remember wich ones 701s have.

If D50 tubes have tinted R/G glycols, those need to be replaced to clear ones with color filtered HD145.
PT-65's are straight swap for HD8, but not for HD6/HD144/HD145.
