In anticipation to check out a sheet of Wilsonart for a potential new screen, as the painted one I have is now too small after being ceiling mounted, I had a few questions about my 4500.
Since there is an IR port located on the front shouldn't that allow the remote to work untethered from the back of the unit? I unplugged it, put in fresh batteries and while the light on the remote will flash I cannot power up the projector. Do I need to keep the remote plugged in while using an additional remote that would trigger the IR on the main wired one?
I probably already know the answer but lately I've noticed when powering off the projector it will immediately turn back on. Often I have to press the power button several times and the projector will eventually shut off. At times when I did leave the projector plugged in overnite it would power itself back on. I can't say if it was a power issue or the sun hitting the IR port triggering it to come on. Would this indicate a bad LV PS?
Edit: I found out what the M23 P1 plus was for after, it goes to the RS-232 board I forgot to put back.

Hello
The rear keypad may lack LEDs necessary to use as a handheld remote.

If that's the case how does one remotely control an Electrohome in general? Does a Marquee function differently with the ability to remove the remote and use off the front IR sensor?
