If you meant 11-point parametric grayscale, that is correct.

Some are (Radiance), but others are not. Even the older and cheaper VisionHDP and DVI's have the 11-point parametrics, and cost much less (used) than the DVDO Duo.

So why are you asking me? Seriously, it looks like you already answered all your own questions. If I missed any, post again and I'll see what I can come up with.

But don't have HDMI 1.3! in 8 inputs and 2 outputs!

True, but paying a premium for more inputs and HDMI 1.3 and trading off 11-point parametric greyscale doesn't seem like a very logical choice. One can hook an HDP up to a 8x1 HDMI switcher and get more useful functionality than would be offered by an Edge or Duo, and for far less money.

Besides, haven't you heard? Even HDMI 1.3 is dog-meat.
HDMI 1.4x is the new, big thing. We all MUST have it, to handle the 3D we'll be flocking to buy. To go with our new 3D displays (to replace the ones we just bought), and new 3D-switching receivers (ditto), and new 3D Blu-ray players (ditto). And not to forget, the cool glasses we'll all enjoy wearing. And all the HDMI cables we'll be replacing. So HDMI 1.3 on the Duo just doesn't cut it.

Yeah, I've read all the nonsense about HDMI 1.3, 1.4, and that newfangled 3D stuff. Personally I don't think that one needs to spend serious money (what that is depends on each individual) on anything just to upgrade over HDMI 1.1 - by the time all the 3D mess gets worked out (and it is a mess) people will probably be ready to cycle to some new gear anyways. I'm still undecided on a couple >1.1 issues (DSD over HDMI particularly) but I think 95% of the people out there would be satisfied with HDMI 1.1.

Regarding 3D and HDMI 1.4...
To run 3D on CRT you probably aren't going to actually need a signal chain that supports HDMI 1.4. For 3D we are going to need a VP that can run 1080i at 96Hz and some kind of an HDMI or DVI input card or HDFury. 1080i 96Hz requires less bandwidth than 1080p 60Hz, so if you have the capacity to run 1080p 60Hz in your system you may be all ready for 3D (minus BD player).
You will need a BD player that can support 3D so that requires an upgrade. But if you have a Radiance processor they can already run 1080i at any refresh rate all the way up to 120Hz.
I am not completely interested in 3D either, but I am pretty sure that with my Radiacne XE and Moome IFB that all I'll need is a new BD player and enough glasses for everyone to view the movie. I am looking forward to trying it as long as I don't need to upgrade my VP.

Then must we're waiting for the 1.4 HDMI!!!
But heard the 1.3 with upgrade is ok for 3D!

I'm personally waiting for HDMI 10, which will wirelessly interface with my neurons to deliver direct sensory stimulation. Until then I'm sticking with composite video and 2ch analog RCA audio, which is plenty good enough.
