High voltage power supplly shuts off in a couple of seconds when system is powered up. Led goes off. Tubes are not on and Diagnostic lights in rear show stand by ok, v drive no light, h drive light ok and video light not on but no signal being sent to system. Curt says in setup tips may be Delection or High voltage problem. How do I trace to get to proper componet. Have Multimeter ready. I have service manual. But i am a Jagar Master Technician Not A Electronic Technician But Willing To Give It A Try. Thanks

I unhooked the Horizontal Deflection POWER SUPPLY FROM BOARD AND THE POWER SUPPLY STAYS POWERED UP AND THE dIAGNOSTIC LIGHTS ON BACK OF UNIT ALL GREEN. I PINNED OUT THE POWER SUPPLY + 15V AT 16.40, - 15V AT -17.17, +26V AT 30.12 I SUSPECT HORIZONTAL BOARD HAS FAULT. ANY IDEAS WHAT PART FAILS OR HOW TO TEST BOARD FURTHER. I HAVE A GOOD RUNNING UNIT BUT AFRAID TO SWAP BOARD FROM MY WORKING MACHINE. I SEE NOTHING BURNT ON THE BOARD? THANKS FOR ANY HELP

No offense Dean, but I don' t know that there's anyone here that will give out that info. I make my living repairing PC boards, so it's not in my best interest to give component level information out, and given the funky nature of that Zenith unit, without being an experienced tech, it's probably not a good idea to go in blind. That Zenith has some unique issues with it, poor manufacturing being one of them, and I've managed to phosphor burn a few tubes while figuring the set out.
Your problem can be on a few boards (and possibly more than one bad board to boot), and if you're interested, I'd get you to send me a few boards in the set to go over and do some upgrades on while they are here. Costs are $250 incl return shipping to do them all.
Cheers!
Curt
