Hello,

I'm thinking of painting my marquee because the grey sucks.

I think there are a lot of people who had already done this.

What colour is yours ? please post a picture if you have one.

already saw a completely white one but at the moment i think i prefer completely black maybe with a few white parts or stripes.

i would be glad for good ideas.

Curt Palme has black cover sets for Marquees. Nothing looks better. He also has the silver used by Madrigal on their custom version
of the Marquee.

Mine is black with side panels painted to match the walls, which are nearly Colonial blue.

Black. I cleaned the case parts with TSP but I suspect soap and water would work fine. Then I put on a few coats of black car-paint primer, and finished off with a few coats of rattle-can DupliColor "Truck Van & SUV" paint. Worked like a charm.

Plan to spend some time to get it right. I put on 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint. With a rattle-can it's imperative to put on very light coats -- too thick and you get splotchy coverage and runs. I spread out the coats over an afternoon and it turned out great.

I have a White Marquee as my HT is our Living room.

I do have a set of Black covers in my cellar, bought them off Bill Blue a long time ago.

stripes? That really doesn't sound like a good idea. Black with the original Gray covers might not be that sexy but it looks OK. Or, try and fine a set of covers off a Vision 2 or Vision 3

I painted mine black since my theater is now black and very dark blue. I wanted it to disappear into the ceiling as much as possible. It was a big improvement over the original grey.

The last picture of it up on the ceiling doesn't look that great since I had to take it with the flash on. It looks great in the room with lights on and off.

Looks good, Carl. Looks a lot like mine, except I also removed the metal side panels and painted those too. *Everything* is black on mine.

I really dig the Madrigal MP wood-grain sides in a 1970's bowling alley-motif sort of way.

Yeah, I still want to paint that last portion black as well. Perhaps I'll do that when I take the projector down to do replace the blue tube.

I thought basic black was always good unless you want the pj to not only blend with decor but accent it as well.

Duplicolor or Fusion or any of the plastic paints should work well. Clean the case with alcohol and spray away. My pj was in semi-gloss, which I liked better than flat or high gloss.
