I might be buying another 9500L/C. It is in great shape, picture on it looks great. Red has no wear showing. Blue has no wear showing. Green is a 7 just like GOZER. 4300 hours on tubes, 11,000 on machine. A pretty good match in hours to GOZER. It does NOT have the M/P Mods, it is bone stock 1997. Gozer is a 1996.
So I think I am going to try a BLEND or STACK. 
Probably a stack because as I understand it you just line them up and use a rs232 interface cable and your done.
What do you guys think about this? 
Who is going to be the first detractor

go for it. The RS232 is a control port, not a video port. You need an RGB loop through module for slot 2 or a second moome card.
standard MArquee's can only be stacked over/under, not side by side

It is a VERY cool thing to do, that's for sure.
I agree, I managed to get an acceptable picture after about 4 hours of setup when I played with it. It wasn't anywhere near perfect of course, but it was fun to do.
I believe you CAN stack side by side, but geometry won't be perfect. If you do this, try a side by side stack on the floor before changing your ceiling configuration.
I programmed the remotes so one would only work on each set. THat way I didn't need to worry about covering one IR detector when tweaking one set.
Well worth the effort!

Are you saying that with the RS232 control connecting the two Marquees you can use ACON to do the convergence automatically for you ?
I thought I remembered seeing something in the Marquee software concerning this, it would certainly make it a LOT easier proposition...
If the price is right, why not, it would be fun to try...

Hey - Go for it... if you want to blend - check out my software to do blending with a PC (a sticky in the PC forum!) for a low-cost way to do it... or I'll sell you my DVX8022  (I am not using it anymore since I only watch movies with the PC).

Drags actually the rs 232's are used for stacking up and down if you have both with acon, there is a stacking program
for the marquee's that you use to just do a basic set up then let the acon do the rest. you dont need the rgb loop either if you go the dvi splitter route with two moome cards.
But you are correct with no side by side stacking with non ultras. i tried it, even removed the side panels to get them super close, just wont do it with out top and bottom keystone.

I wasn't sure what Dave meant by RS232 interface but I have seen the stacking option in the ACON menu. The hardest part of that would be finding 2 complete working ACON assembly's, maybe even impossible
I also tried side-side stack in my garage and there's no freaking way, you run out of corner convergence and linearity real quick. Not sure about Ultra's but I don't see how the Ultra would help here?
Over/under would be a breeze, all you need is 10 foot tall ceilings and some serious ceiling joist re-enforcement.

Too bad it wasn't a possibility. Was there on even for sale or is this all fluff?
I'd like to have the option to side stack marquee's. I know nothing about the issue, but I'd like to think it was possible. Still if you have a basement setup and lots of room, over under would be cool. Jask is doing some mods to get his projector tucked into the ceiling so that would reduce the need for some vertical height. Maybe don't do it under the fridge as he's planning though...
I'm sure Athanasios would like to have someone else doing a blend to toss ideas with.
As far as blending... I was in a sporting goods store a few days ago and they had 4 LCD TV's (2x2) with 1 big image on it. The image (if the screens were actually able to touch) would have had the equivalent of 10% overlap. So the dark center line in a blend would be taken care of. I wonder what they were using to do this?

My head is far from spinning around. You have left it shaking somewhat.
I have completely lost faith in your ability to resolve and set this up DIY even with all the free information given here.
The day I lost it was the day you tried to stuff a red c-element between the existing clear one and the lens. You have beaten me as I was sure that poor projector would be dead in a month. I guess Marquees are tougher than I thought.  Buy two, heck buy three. Three times the magic smoke is good
Anyone who has thought or suggested that you buy a digital has given you good advice

That's a video wall controller unit. Companies like Electrosonic and GVC have made them for years, and yes, people are now using LCD monitors for that in sports and clothing stores.
I did a service call on one 3 X 3 LCD wall. No picture.
They knocked the Svideo cable from their satellite box out that went to the wall controller. Needless to say, the image looked like CRAP, and considering they had TWO in the store with all sorts of cubbyholes and nooks and crannies around them made me wonder why they bothered.
But you know the consumer.. gotta have it!
The only good application in Vancouver was the Disney Stories that had decent CRT based RP walls, usually a 2 X 2. But as usual, no one maintained them, so eventually they looked like crap too.

Sorry dude, no I havent been keeping up. I assumed he said something to get the reaction. I always think of the lurkers out there, thinking of getting into CRT then reading stuff like that and they think of going digital. I had a few guys here tell me to go digital and I'm glad I didn't listen.
I'm Marquee and NEC!!! Don't have room for a battleship sized 4600 AmPro...

But would they be any good for blending? or is the quality so crappy it isn't worth it? or does it only do 2x2 or 3x3, not 1x1?
This one looked like HD, the pictures were nice and sharp. I just thought it was interesting that if the panels could actually touch to make 1 big screen, there would be over lapped image.

The 9PG+ is still one of my favorite projectors. I have one fully te-tubed with factory new tubes. I still think it has the best color of any projector I've seen, even LC's with colored c-elements. Have you tried to feed 1080P to it? I'm curious if it would lock on to it. or would it fry. I know the upper limits of it's resolving power is not much better then 720P.

We had a bunch of us try once. There was several nube's with 9PG+'s and only one person said they managed to get it to lock. Mine looked like this. I'm told even if it would lock, you drive the electronics really hard, so not encouraged. Mine has near mint tubes (ala Curt) and has only 3500 hours on the chassis. I wish I could move the colored lenses to the Marquee.
