Hi, Does anyone know for sure if ALL R762292 (1208" Black Box") neck cards were intended for MEC tubes? I'm currently running a data 808s with the standard MEC 180dvb tubes (but with coloured glycol instead of the clear stuff) and original (slightly modded) 2 piece neck cards (non ABL), and was wondering if I can substitute R762292 without modifications, with these tubes?

Do R762292 cards support ABL or not? (Don't mind either way, just curious)

Will R762292 physically fit in the available space in an 808s chassis? (and still do a full "swing" for mechanical aim?)

I'm currently running 810p from Blu-ray at 48Hz and Sky HD at 50Hz (Europe) with stunning results from a Lumagen HDP and HD Fury, but I'm thinking a bit of extra bandwidth wouldn't go amiss here.

Is this worth the bother, or will I see no improvement in resolution? (it's far from soft "as is")

Has anybody actually done this?

I'm seeing scan lines at the screen with my current resolution, and can resolve a 1:1 pattern fairly easily. Anything above 810p starts to get a tiny bit softer. I have run 1080p for a while in the past, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't close to fully resolving it, and in any case 810p looks more pleasing to me. The Lumagen seemingly does a good job of downscaling from 1080i/p to these resolutions/ refresh rates.

What do you guys think about the R762292 cards in this machine?

Worth it or not?

As an aside, I had all of the cards out of this chassis some time ago, and after reinstallation the "crt drive mode" no longer functions. I would only ever use it in "normal", but I just want to ensure that's where it currently is! The on screen info changes, but nothing happens picture wise any more. When working, does this just "up" the gain to each colour channel, or something else perhaps?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes those neck cards are for MEC tubes and have abl, but it's different what 808 have.

1208 amps won't work in 808, because those need voltages that aren't coming from 808 smps.
Also mobo connectors are different and physical size will be problem in 808 chassis.
