I just found an amazing deal on a 5 channel amplifier, B&K AV5000 Series II, for $50. I am trying to get it integrated with my system and was wondering if anyone knew the best place, if any, to pull somewhere between 5 and 24 volts for the trigger for the amp from my Denon AVR1801. Obviously this receiver doesn't have an external trigger and I also can't find the amperage requirement for the trigger itself on the amp. I suspect it is very low but would like to know for sure.

I guess one option would be to hook up a cell phone charger to the switched outlet on the back of the receiver but I would like to be a little cleaner than that.

I am really looking forward to moving into the world of separate amplifiers and am still somewhat in shock at getting this amp for only $50, Craigslist comes through again.

Any suggestions are appreciated and thanks in advance.

Try turning the receiver around. I usually keep the fancy side of the receiver towards my seating area. I dont like looking and all those wires either when I'm watching or listening to something. Laughing

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

This would be the easiest solution.

I would have to see the schematics of the power supply just to determine if you could tap in there somewhere for a trigger. There is not usually much of a threshold for use other then the original circuit. But there are ways around that.
