Can anyone tell me if I could program a universal remote control to be used with a NEC XG 75 CRT projector.
I just picked up the projector from a craigslist sale but it had know remote. I just did some quick research and it seems I cant operate the projector without the remote. It looks like I could build a cable and use my computer to control it but I'm very bad at that kind of thing. I saw a few remotes on eBay but they are so expensive and after buying this projector I'm all taped out. If I got the codes for the projector could I program a universal remote? Someone help me please!
Thanks
Ya

I did some basic setup on an NEC 6PG with a Pronto remote with the NEC 9PG codes loaded into it. I believe all of the NEC remotes are basically the same. I did not get too far into the programming but others have said it is a pain trying to program without the original remote. I found the codes on www.remotecentral.com Keep an eye out here. I recently purchased an NEC remote for around $50 and I saw another for sale last week for $45.
