I didn't see that one, I'm assuming it was a 'buy it now' ?

Still, as long as all three tubes aren't toasted, you got a good deal. Perhaps a REALLY good deal!

the CRT owner's motto:

Betcha can't own just one! Smile

Yet Kal managed to do just that. Strange. Very Happy

Well, that's 'cause he got two quality sets from a quality reseller. Ha! Very Happy

Yup! I don't see the point in owning two! I do have some backup boards however. Wink

Ya know, this forum represents a tiny fraction of CRT owners, both consumer and pro. I got two calls this weekend from customers that I sold sets to over 8 years ago. One wanted to add HDMI, one had an HV supply go. Neither customer has needed my services since buying their sets, so it goes to show that:

1) Not everyone has the incessant need to upgrade
2) Not everyone has the incessant need to tweak
3) CRTs are still more reliable than digitals. Wink

Speaking of digitals, today I'm going to... wait, can't talk about it yet! Very Happy

So do those non-tweaking never-call-in-8-years customers tweak enough to keep their convergence in line? I can't believe even a Curt-serviced CRT would keep its alignment for 8 years!!

Maybe I am missing something here, but why do you two get upset when someone grabs a deal like this.

Chuchuf lives in Alpharetta or Johns Creek (I think he is close to the border of these two places) not Marietta, unless he moved. Wan, I thought you had been over to his place?

Well I did the four hour drive to Atlanta today. Bad news and good news. Tim-In-Phoenix was correct, was not an Ultra. I mentioned that at the pickup so they knocked $100 bucks off the BIY price. I just knew the tubes would be toast but turns out they are white as can be, not a hint of wear. (wife has the camera so can't prove). I was actually expecting the reverse situation, burnt up Ultra. All in all a good day. I suck.

Wow that's nice, retubed before it was shoved into the locker, or remained hanging in front of the new bulb machine.

Hello

You will want to run the usual checks, like runtime hours, filament voltage, see how much G2 is needed, and the anamorphic mod to the vertical board. I can also do the Papst Fan Mod to the lvps section if you like.

tfurber,

Sorry I had to edit your post, but no working projector sales are allowed on the site. From the Buy/Sell forum:
Quote:
No working projector sales please! Projector parts, non-working projectors, and anything else is ok.

And from general forum rules:
Quote:
Since Curt is primarily a CRT projector reseller, no selling of working projectors in the Buy & Sell forum please. Projector parts and anything else is ok.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks,
SC
