was wondering if anyone out there was familiar with dve hd basics or spears and muncil hd benchmark. if so could u direct me to what i need on those disks to help me adjust my gamma x.

Ideally you want to measure it with a meter. If you don't want to do that then use test patterns that have dark scenes in them or a PLUGE (Picture line-up generation equipment) pattern like this:



Your brightness has to be set right first too.
