In the G90 the ABG/AKB line turns off after 20mins, which is better, but off is best.

The G90 AKB scheme works really well, btw. Keeps the color very accurate, and as long as you turn it on a tiny bit early, the line disappears...

Whatever you do, write your original settings down before fiddling!

"ANSI Contrast" is just a wanky way of saying "washout", but the line does do that.

If you need a colourimeter I have a HCFR, I can mail it to you if you like.

Yep, that's exactly what I did... Who knows, might have learned from a post by you, Axatax...

I didn't really care that much about the line - Once I figured out the raster/image size deal on the G70, it was well off my 16:9 screen and just on the black wall behind the screen - hardly distracting - you could barely see it. It wasn't very bright, either... I'm sure it may have had an impact on measured ANSI contrast, but visually, I didn't see that it had much of any effect at all... If you dialed brightness down so you had a black screen in the dark room, the AKB line didn't make it any less black... It's just one little line... Washout is a gross overstatement.

But, the problem I was having was brightness pulsing. It would do it some scenes and not others... It probably only happened 5-10% of the time, and only at 1080p, but it was REALLY obnoxious. Turning off ABG fixed it right up. I'm running 1080p, and a happy camper, save for the slight geometry issue.

I'm glad it's gone, though. It's a stupid design for it to be on all the time.

Maybe the line is less intense than my old 12xx, or a NEC (when enabled)?

It's been a while since I've seen a G70. On a NEC it would drive me bananas.

Hi ecrabb,
I have had the same issue as you on the rare occasion on some blu-rays, with the pulsing in some of the darker scenes, so I changed my Clamp setting in the G70 but didd'nt fix it..

I am running the older Moome IFB- HD/Gamma card inputting YcBcR 4:2:2 10bit.. I was hoping (just ordered) new V2 Full-HD card may of fixed this issue but I guess not, I need to turn off ABG...

Cheers..
