I'm trying to level uneven wear on blue tube, with the method described by Perisoft. Which is the safest method to run only one tube, disconnecting the other two? The VP is a Marquee 9500.
Thanks for the answers

Wait, are you trying to just light up one tube? Not 100% sure what yo are doing.

Your remote can shut off each tube depending on the combination you choose.

Press the "color" key (top left of remote") and a number to turn on the CRT you want to play with.
1: red
2: green
3: blue
4: red and green
5: blue and green
6: blue and red
7: all off
8: all on

Is that what you are trying to do?

Hello

Press "Color, 3" for blue only. Push "Exit" for normal viewing.

but tim doesn't it come back on to all three tubes after awhile? Couldn't he just disconnect the video cables off the VIM?

Yes, first thing I tested was just "press Color 3" for blue only, but after about 20 minutes I had all 3 color on; I thought about disconnecting cables for G and R on VIM, but I didn't know if it was safe for the VP...

You can disconnect the input on the VIM, I can't see any possible way this would harm the Marquee, I did this on my 8000 to level wear and had hundred of hours of use without any problems.
