|
|
I own a Marquee 8000 with the Moome VIM-HD input card and a 2nd RGBHV input card. I currently connect my Blueray player directly to the Moome card and my Dish Network receiver connects through the HD Leeza using Y Pb Pr inputs. Come Christmas I will be adding an xbox to the collection and cannot decide how I should connect it. I cannot afford to buy a 2nd Moome (dual HDMI input) card for the projector, nor could I fit two additional 30' HDMI cables into the raceway leading to the projector. So I need to work with the single HDMI cable and/or the existing RGBHV cable.
Here are my two options, I would love some opinions on which I should go with.
1. Purchase an OPPO HM-31 HDMI switch and connect all three sources through this switch and out to the projector with the HDMI cable. I like this option because the OPPO HM-31 has an IR-in port that will work with my MX-3000 remote. The draw back is that I have no room for future expansion and I am worried that each of the three HDMI sources may center their picture slightly different and I would have no control to adjust the input/output of each source. However, having all three of my sources using HDMI would be great because the signal would be digital all the way to my projector.
2. Purchase three DVI-to-HDMI adapters from KeyDigital (KD-MFHDMI) so I can use my HD Leeza to switch/scale all of my sources. Having the Leeza in the mix would allow me fine grain control over each input and the output. My concern is that adding the processing of the HD Leeza could slightly degrade the final picture because I am now doing more than just switching HDMI inputs. Also, it appears that the Leeza only accepts 1080i on its HDMI inputs which I'm not really sure if that matters or not.
If there is another option that I am not thinking of, please let me know. Otherwise, I would love some expert advice on what my best option is.
Thanks,
Brian
