I just wish they still made the OPA chip in a DIP package for the quad version. Sad

For what it's worth, I pulled the board and saw no change to my picture, so I'm in agreement with Mike that for a single display, it's not needed.

Athanasios: Is the TLE2074 a replacement for both (older) chips?

really? Were you even using the boards adjustments beofre pulling it? If you go into RGB temps, choose "zones", and bump up the 4 corners by 10% and maybe dial down the upper/lower area's by 5 to 10% you will have (more) uniform screen brightness. Typically a CRT is brighter in the center and dimmer towards the edges.

Thanks Dragon, I will try that. You are correct, I never messed with zone contrast. Probably why I didn't see a difference after pulling it! Razz

Yep, its a much lower noise Chip.
