I am looking at buying a couple of 2 year old Berkline electric theater recliners. They look to be in great shape with little apparent use. I am a little concerned about the electric part of the recliners. Anyone have experience with these? Do they seem to operate alright with no issues?
Thanks
Dan

I bought my Berklines used (as I do with almost everything) I got 3 leather powered recliners for 250.00 for the set. One of the chairs didn't work and was sold as such. I called berkline and 75.00 later they sent me the new recliner motor mechanism. I've had them for 2 years now and I hope I never have to be without them.

I bought a used set of used Berks, too. I call 'em the "Bear Chairs" because they supposedly came from a retired Chicago Bear. Wink

Anyway, the fabric was perfectly clean and stain-free, but the chairs had obviously seen 6" or so of water in a basement flood or something. Neither of the two power reclines worked because the "power modules" were shot from the water. Ordered a couple of new modules for $60-70 total, and they're as good as new. I love the power recline... I love that you can get the chair in just the perfect position. My next chairs will be powered, too.

I've got the non-powered Berks. Wallace has powered version next door... much nicer. I like the incremental adjustment range.

My non-powered ones seem to have 2 choices: not reclined far enough or reclined too much.

I picked these up and just got them in the HT. Very nice. I paid $250 each. The guy I got them from lived in a 4000 sq ft house and was downsizing due to job lost. He said that he had already downsized once from his previous house. This reinforces my belief in living below your means.

You need people with the "gotta have it-credit card is an extension of my savings account" mentality. How else can we get nice stuff on the cheap? Laughing

Nice thread, by the way. Every time my wife and I go looking for furniture, we run into theatre chairs and since we don't know anything about them, we pass (especially with a new chair price tag Shocked ). Nice to know at least the Berks have nice reviews from owners. For now though, I'm living within my means with a 10 year old non-reclining couch. Sad
