If you do the grounding, make sure ALL OTHER BREAKERS IN THE HOUSE ARE OFF!!
Also this should eliminate a bad ground in the LVPS, but make sure the new ground goes to the mounting screw on the LVPS.
In addition, with everything else turned off you eliminate other potential sources of problems.

Thanks Jim. I have not done the second ground yet. However I have dug up the house ground and the rod is fine and the bonding bolt is tight. The Bare copper wire is also not damaged in any way. I also turned off every other breaker in the house except for GOZER's, this should have eliminated and false grounds or loops or other interference sources, so I think that one is eliminated. The Herringbone remained.
Now that the clips are back on that arcing is completely gone. The Herringbone remains. I have removed all of the wire looms from the Motherboard that go to the Neckboards and cleaned both sides[ MB side, NB side, wirelom sides] and replaced them, no difference. I have not looked at the the copper ground wires on the tubes yet, but I have crimped the wire end that goes to the Neckboards, they are very tight.
I am going to Lowes to buy some grounding eyelets to make new ground wires. I will be drilling the Heatsink out by the outer edges and use a self taping screw there and run the new grounds to the video cable clip screws.
The next question I keep thinking is, what grounds the mother board itself? Could there be a bad ground on it?
I'll check in when I get back.
Dave

Heh the loaner parts are here i am going to try the CLM First.
So before I turn GOZER back on It is running without a focusboard. Stig amp wires are off, I'll let you know...
Put the CLM in Herringbone still there. Next I will remove that CLM and replace it with My CLM and change the Neckboards one at a time, starting with the most suspected one first. That is the one on the red tube that is displaying the most Herringbone.

Strangely, tonight dturco will stop posting, and UFO sightings in the Maryland area increase.
Coincidence? I think NOT!

The neckboard being replaced has nearly solved the Herringbone issue, as I always thought it would, this is the first time I have had an Extra [ EDIT NECKBOARD } board to put on in my home. The herringbone is barely noticeable, in fact I think its just regular fuzzy type interference not the big wavy lines I was seeing.
So now do I continue with each neckboard or just do the VIM? The phone cutting off is still there.
Good one Curt

VIM it is.
Ok VIM is in, no change to the picture. The slight distortions are still there and the cell phone still shuts down as soon as the P/J starts and comes back on as soon as it is turned off.
But now at least it doesn't look like the tube is going to explode from the Herringbone wiggling all around on it.
Is it time for a new thread or to call the Motherboard[ship]
Next?

I can't remember for sure, but I think there are ground straps inside the box that you slide the hdm and focus card into. Might not hurt to make sure they're in place and secure. As this is the source of most noise maybe just give it a bend to make a little better connection.

Yep Jim thee is a big copper "Leg" on the HDM that sticks out and causes a friction as well as the panduit connector at the top it seats in. and 2 plastic slides to guide it in to place.
The focus board has the slides, not sure about the "Leg" I will double check as I put it back in.

Neck board??
Where did you get that from....he indicated above that it was the VIM.
I just got off the phone with him a few minutes ago and he told me the problem went away when he changed the VIM, which would be the second time a stock VIM was put into the set, and he said it did the same thing.
Anyway, the problem being more in one neck board was something we already knew about. He had been claiming showed up in all three, but it was worse in only one of them.
Those boards will not work in that Marquee...

Ok, I missed tha post.
But now that I see it, especially where he mentions "this is the first time I have had an Extra board to put on in my home"
Dave and I have been working on this same problem well over a month. he has been to my house at least four times with us trying various things and. one of the many things that we've tried was a neck board. We also lent him a stock VIM. But just getting off the phone with him, he was clear that replacing the VIm solved the problem..
Anyway, we had that whole video chain installed back here in both of my marquess, and there was no problem. And we tested them using the test generator on the test marquee. And 1080P Blu ray on my personal Marquee.
the set of mods that he has was what i was using the past months, with the only exception being what i'm working on now.
Anyway, we both decided that it would be best to put him back to where he was before this version of the mods. What he had prior to these mods are an very early version that I did not claim 1080P or higher bandwidth. So in his projector, which I'm sure has a noise problem that won't allow the higher bandwidth mods to work properly in it, he'll do better with the earlier version that was in there.

I am done with the swapping and all is working well. I was on a ladder swapping the VIM while talking to Mike. It is true and correct that Mike lent me a VIM to swap, I did not have a Neckboard here, we just began running parts to the test mule after the VIM swap trying to find the issue which did not appear on his test mule. I have edited the previous post to say Neckboard as I was not clear about that.
The issue has been resolved. Mike is making another set of boards to give back to me with out the Microns . I am satisfied that will be as much as can be done. I will give him back these boards so he can research them.
If there is anything else it is me or GOZER and I will track it down in... A NEW THREAD

Sorry, haven't read every thread and post. Did this solve the cell phone issue as well, or just the herringbone?

With a problem like that, it would make sense to solve it. The set is emitting something that's really weird to effect a cell phone.
Or maybe Gozer has an electronic version of H1N1.. And it'll go away on it's own.
I don't think you'll need to start another thread. Maybe you should get Curt involved and you two work on this off line. If he suggest any parts to try, let me know, I could still loan you a part or two.

I'd say leave it for now, make sure that the herringbone is gone for sure.
Then.....
