Hi,

this Vertical Board caused me a lot of trouble. In short: Top/Bottom pin settings are lost after powering down the projector. On closer inspection I realized that the previous owner of my set has done some (not so nice looking) soldering job on the board. He swapped/replaced 14 resistors. I suspect this mod to cause the problems, but I'm not even sure for what reason those parts were replaced.
Can somebody tell me what this could be good for?

The reason you had trouble is that board in the pic could be an ultra board, What is the exact part number and issue numbers. Usually that green fly wire is from an ultra board.

The writing on the board says: VERTICAL BD 50 2330 02P ISS.1

Probably the rest of my PJ is an Ultra as well. I do have the FGM which gives me some extra geometry control for Top/Bottom and also the replacement Vertical Board is not working without the fly wire in place.

And looking at the quality of the soldering job I'm pretty sure those resistors were not replaced by Marquee Smile

there are some other things you need to do to make sure the CVA and VDM are ultra's not sure what they all are but the CVA should have some fly wires too.

Yeah, the CVA has the green fly wires and some additional resistors as well...

i've been on the forums for over 6 years and never read a discussion where those parts were recomended or even discussed to be replaced. Whoever did it was experimenting, sounds like a failed experiment too.
They are 1% precision resistors though, I would simply go through the factory parts list and see which of them has the wrong values. Also, make sure "they" didn't put in a metal film in place of a fusible, potential fire hazard.

That doesn't sound too good. Maybe one of the chips got toasted during this experiment...

Can you point me to a page where I can get those part lists?
