That's a fairly loaded question...
From one perspective, when you can buy whole, working, good condition projectors dirt cheap, the question becomes is it worth spending all that money for an incremental improvement ?
I guess if you've got the cash, and you want to do it, sure. I wouldn't personally, but I'm a guy who likes to spend nothing on a projector, or as close to that as possible...
I have a BG808s, 1999 vintage, with high resolution Panasonic tubes and 120Mhz components and sheimplfluge mounts. I got it this way, it is a former SEOS machine. The high bandwidth pieces and the high resolution Panasonic tubes make a difference, for sure(I was playing with 1600x1200 at 72Hz and could get it completely focused where I could distinguish scan lines) but I paid $200. for it, a far cry from the price of even the cheapest mod, so *I* wouldn't say the mods had much value *to me* but your circumstances may be different and they *may* have value to you.
The mods are "for real" and do have an effect, its up to you to decide if they're "worth" it or not...

There are previous posts here and on avs discussing Greg's mods. I've seen the DVI port 5 card here, and it worked as described.
What most people had a problem with is that Greg made claims that he couldn't back up, such as '200% improvement'.
What does that mean?
Greg's workmanship on his boards was fine, no problems there. I personally would not spend the money, then again I don't spend money on anything in my own HT.

I wish I had all the money wasted on mods making rediculous claims to the amount of improvement they provide. If I did have that money, I'd buy a brand new top of the line JVC digital. When the bulb went, I'd toss the whole thing and buy a new one. What really gripes my a$$ is how much some here will spend on dum $hit but won't spend a couple of bucks on a factory mount but will spend hours trying to engineer a ugly uni-strut mount.
"200%" aka "hardly noticable" sales fodder from someone trying to justify their existance.
