I agree with chip.
The fans circulate the air and it keeps getting hotter till it causes problems.
Mine has always been located with a ceiling fan fight behind it. The fan is on low speed but it circulates the air to help dissipate the hot air from the PJ. I have never had an over heat problem on any of My AmPros. I have been running AmPros for 9 years. The only change that I have done on the 4600 is to add a small(50mm)fan to the end of the HVPS. It is connected to the same pins as the belly fans. I have ZERO convergence problems. It is always spot on right from turn on. I have run it 10 hours straight on some weekends.
