Yeah it uses the one with no corner focus knob. I have no idea what lenses will fit this unit other than the Cine 8 Onyx lenses. There must be other LC colour corrected lenses that will fit.

Using a 1292 at average screen sizes. There is No visible difference between HD-10F's and just plain old HD-10's my resolution tests showed they resolve 1920x1080p exactly the same.
They are still however lovely lenses beautifully made.

The lenses you have are the hd-215. A direct replacement are either the hd117-12 or the hd117-24. You can find the 117's quite easily unfortunately the don't focus on lager screens. Now as said earlier you can use the hd-18's from a g-70 or xg. Bad part is you need the c-elements also, plus you need to shave the mounting tabs off of the hd-18's so they will fit properly. Also take in mind that whatever lens change you make you will have to move your projector.

I'm sorry I didn't specify the 117-12 don't focus on larger screens. The 117-24's do focus on larger screens.
The 117-24's are like white elephants, you know their out there but finding one is next to impossible.

Do you have the 1292 HD-10F's or the G90 ones (without the foam?)
I have heard that the G90 lenses are noticeably better.

The 24's came on the Ampro 3600 modules. Of course the modules also came with the 12's. I know Curt has some 3600 modules but he'd have to check which ones he has.

Hi Adam,
What do you consider large screens, I use a 96" Diag(7' wide). SO the G70 lenses will work but the C elements are different than what's in mine with the stock lenses and that goes for the 117s too?
Does anyone know what model # is for the lenses in the Cine8 Onyx?
Athanasios,
Maybe I'll send him a PM on AVforums, although I remember sending him PMs for other things previously and he never answered.

Yes as I said at first they are the hd-215 lenses!!
I'm not sure but I think the 117-12's will focus to that small of a screen, but I believe that is their limits. So if you already have colored c-elements than you should be good. The reason that I am getting ready to use the hd-18 lenses is I can't find the hd117-24 and finding the c-elements out of a g-70 easier.

True enough but still, you have to admit CRT makes anything look better compared to the other options.

HI Adam
I believe the lenses on the 1200X are the HD215 which are not the same as the ones on the Cine8 Onyx. The lenses on the onyx have both center focus and corner focus, where as the HD215 on the 1200x only have center focus.

There is no label on them? If the lenses on your onyx look just like the ones in the picture of the onyx brochure, than they are most likely the 117-24's. I could be wrong.

The 117-12's will focus in the range of 43" to 62" image width.
The 117-24's will focus in the range of 60" to 262" image width.

Hi Adam,
I don't have an Onyx I have a 1200x, I have the mamuals for the onyx and I can see they have 2 focus adjustments where as mine only has 1. 117-24, I've never even heard of anyone ever having a set of those for sale, hmmm.

Well, Curt has a set on eBay right now, for $1200. Only downside is that you need to buy the rest of the Ampro 3600 retro they're attached to. Upside is that you get a 'free' set of new tubes.

I'm not going to say that Curt made a mistake in that ad but, if that is a retro chassis and its the original lenses then they are the short throw 117-12's.

In looking at that chassis that Curt has for sale, it sure looks like a 3600 module chassis, not a retro. So it could have the 117-24's on it.
