Hey guys, question for those more knowledgeable than me
I'm planning my 2nd HT (new wife, new house, new HT, same 9500LC. You'll have to pry the Marquee from my cold, dead, hands....)
In the old HT, I had 8' ceilings and mounting the projector was a no brainer; mounted straight to the ceiling and the base ended up being a few inches higher than the top of the screen.
Now I have 11'3" ceilings. I'm assuming that the height of the viewing position for the first row of seats should be about 1/3 of the way up the screen (screen is 96" x 54"). That puts the top of the screen significantly lower than the ceiling.
So what about the 9500LC? Does it still need to be mounted with it's base just a few inches above the top of the screen? I don't want to be in a position where I need to max out keystone. Can I tilt the screen up a bit? Anybody else hang a projector more than a couple feet off the ceiling? How'd you do it?
Screen is 96" wide. I haven't tested this yet, but I'm figuring that throw will be about 120.2" (from the Madrigal setup guide).
On top of this, I've got to worry about the rear row and make sure the PJ doesn't get in their line of sight. Oh well, these are good problems to have I guess
Thanks fellas.

Hello
Best if you keep the top of the lens barrels no higher than the top of the viewing surface, or you may run out of range on the top/bottom focus adjustment.

I think with a couple of feet mis-match you will be looking at more Keystone than you should use. For height matching i like to keep the 2 relevant points within 12" of optimal for acceptable Key. If you like, I can probably modify the PJ portion of the bracket to include a 24" drop. As long as the bracket is steel and not too flimsy. the Chief mounting brackets were great for this, lots of metal to work with.

This is good to know! Now I have to go recheck the hight of the Longbows to the hight of where i put the Image( i have room for screen play) I might have to sacrifice the view from the last row then. How about the Bottom of the lens to top of image? still too much?

Thanks guys!
I kept reading all the Ehome documentation I have. I guess it really just boils down to keeping the angle the projector makes to the screen less than 15 degrees, no matter how you do it. Mount the projector lower, raise the screen up higher, tilt the screen, etc.
I did not know about the limit that Tim mentioned though regarding hitting the focus limit (top of the lens barrel under the top of the screen). That's a pretty hard limit and not mentioned anywhere else so I'll have to keep that in mind as well.
