I dont know if this is the right place to get an answer, but I could use a little help, if you dont mind..I am looking to put a distributed audio system in to a shopping center type building. There is a small grocery, and 6 retail shops. The owner, my wife's uncle, wants to have music playing throughout, but have sales ads interrupt the music and the ads to relate to the store you are in front of.

Can someone point me in the right direction as far as hardware and software needed for this kind of setup? I am almost thinking NetStreams, 'cause it'll control however many speaker sets and allow only one control. But what do I use to interject the messages into the audio stream? Is there a program that I could setup the messages, then just plug them into a stream of music? This is not something Ive done before, so I am looking for all the help I can get. Thank you ahead of time, any and all input is appreciated...

TV/Projector: All of them!

I can help. I do this for a living. Many ways to do it, but what you want is a Mackensie Digital Labs message recorder, at least that's one way to do it. With multiple zones, you'd need multiple recorders, but they are pretty cheap. Very reliable as well.

If you can do the messaging part via computer, then great, get some commercial grade amps with music ducking, which automatically will lower the music when the messages play. You want 70 volt amps, consumer amps won't work, nor will they have the features and reliability you need. I am out of town for another 6 days or so, but PM me if you want further assistance.

Cheers!
