I am receiving my new screen this week so I can put up my crt. I have a zenith pro 895x. I am using a 92 diag. screen with a width of all most 80 inches viewing width and 45 inches screen height. In the manual it states b=ax0.3057+8.44 or
38 inches in manual. I have only a 80 inch ceiling height . That puts the screen top at 17 inches from the ceiling. Every thing I read says the bottom height should be no more than 48 inches from floor. Can the projector be tilted more up to bring the screen higher to the ceiling. If so will you still be able to adjust pj proper. If not I will install by what the manual says. Is this measurement for best viewing angle for comfort. What I read this screen should be fine at a distance from 10 feet or more. This setup will be enjoyed by maybe 2 adults and two children at times with only one row of seats

Put the screen where it suites you best for viewing. The P/J has adjustments to compensate for the angles or you can tilt the screen also.
Check out the screen section as I am posting about this also.

I always thought the general rule was the top of your screen at or about the bottom of your lens. The higher the screen, the less keystone. The other thing to think about is if you have a second row of seats, you might want it higher to keep their view better unless you build a riser.
