|
|
Hello,
Could you give me some help please ?
I am trying to connect my pc to my SONY VPH 1251 projector through the BNC connector.
I have first tried with resolution 800x600 56Hz and the projector gave me the image properly.
But then I have tried the higher resolution to 1024 x 768 with higher frequency 75Hz, and could not get the image.
So I tried to get back to the initial resolution, then many other resolutions, but can't get any image any more further than the Windows logo, since the 1024 test.
I always get the error message :
"fH is too high, this input signal cannot be projected as the horizontal frequency is too high"
When I try higher or lower resolutions through BNC, the projector always stay stuck on block 4 with this error message.
When I try with my DVD player through S-Video connector, it turns to block 1, and display images properly.
Did I exceed the fH that can be displayed through BNC causing a problem ?
How do you think I could fix that ?
Could I reinitialize the original conditions before my 1024 75Hz unlucky test ?
Thank you very much for your advice.

Hello MacGyver655,
Thank you very much for your answer.
Yes, I have tried 640x480@60, but the projector can't display the images coming from the PC after the Windows logo, and I get the message "fH too high unfortunately , I am afraid the projector didn't like my 1024@75Hz test and doesn't want any resolution now
Does not seem easy to go backward
Thanks for your help.

If it wont show an image after startup, how do you change the pc settings? On another monitor? After its fully booted up?

Try reseating the RGBHV card. That worked for me once.

Thank you Macgyver655 and AnalogRocks,
Yes Macgyver655, I use another monitor at the same time to set the resolution.
Can you tell me how I can reset the RGBHVCard, Analogrocks, I can't find the way to do that in the manual of the projector ?
It might be the solution.
Thank you very much in advance.

Are you using a Y adapter or dual monitor setup in windows?
Do you have another PC you could try?

Hello Macgiver655,
I tell you how I proceed.
I set the resolution on the PC with my monitor plugged in, and once I have the resolution to be tested set on my monitor I
switch the PC off , remove the DVI connection to the monitor and I plug the VGA output of my video card to BNC input of the projector and restart the computer.
Do you think this is not the good way to proceed ? Should I try another way ?
It was ok with 800x600@56Hz, but the projector can't display images since my 1024x768@75Hz test with the "fH too high"
message whatever resolution and frequency.
Do you know the resolutions@frequency recommended for the VPH 1251 ?
I am going to use another PC for testing. That's a good idea.
Thank you very much for your help.

I am really just trying to be sure if its the projector on not, before thinking its a board problem.
The first problem I'm seeing already is your using 2 different connections on your PC. DVI and VGA. You may be changing the resolution on the DVI port but not the VGA. You need to connect the VGA to a monitor, set the resolution to 640X480@60, then swap it to the projector without shutting down the PC.
Or use a different PC, but again, set the PC port your using and switch without turning off.

Hello Macgyver655,
Thank you very much for your message I have carefully read.
I am going to apply the way you are telling me.
That could be the cause of the problem.
And I will tell you the result of the test shortly.

Actually I said re-SEAT. As in unscrew the two screws that hold the card in, pull it out and push it back in. Then tighten the two screws again.

Hello Macgyver655,
Thank you so much.
I have tested the projector with my PC with the VGA connection and without restarting the PC as you told me.
The projector managed to display images with the resolution 800x600@60Hz
Fantastic !! You have solved my problem.
But I have tested resolution 1024 several times and can't get images with it.
I was wondering which would be the best resolution for playing DVDs with my projector ?
Thought it was 720*576 60hz but I have not this one ?
What resolution do you use for playing DVDs with such a projector ?
Could I find a tool to get specific resolutions ?
I have heard of something called Powerstrip.
Could this be useful ?
Thank you again for your help and advice.

The 1251 is not capable of 1024, unless your talking 1024X768.If your trying 1280X1024, then it wont work. Also even 1024X768 is near its maximum and may not display it. Your prime resolutions would be 1080i or 720p. Make sure you keep your refresh rate at 60.

Thanks very much Macgyver655.
So I should stay on 1080i or 720p at 60Hz.
Thank you very much for your help again.
