Heyza, this is "the bulbman". (Ok, ok, "tubes" it is...now that I've looked at one it is reminiscent of my great-grandfather's old vacuum tube radio I tinkered with a few years ago. Got it working...though had to hire someone to do the finishing touches.
I'm slowly trying to remove the tubes from the working Zenith so I can put in the Runco tubes I have (the Runco doesn't fire up...nothing) to see if they are ok as well.
I'm stuck at removing the first for fear of damaging or forcibly removing a wire so connection.
How do I get this black colored connector off? The black rubber is somewhat gooey and there seems no way to disconnect it from the other end of the wire.
Also.
This white "locked in" connector on the tube's mini-memory board seems cemented in...can't seem to get it to budge. Again, the wire's other end doesn't seem removable.
Pardon my layman's descriptors.
Suggestions?

Upper one is HV-cable (35 kV or so) and it can be removed from other end, from HV splitter usually by turning bushing.
That other one is focus wire and is also removed from other end. If there is rubber shield, pull it first up and then pull from connector with needle-nose pliers. But you don't fave to remove focus wires when you remove neck boards, open clamp and pull neck board to back. Be careful not to bend tubes pinn connectors.
