*** Posted on avs too, trying my luck here too *************

Cant get the left and right sides to focus at all on green and somewhat on red (blue you cant tell anyway!) I have used first optical focus and also electronic focus, but sides are very blurry. There is no point where optical focus will be sharp at all.

The setting.
Currently its floor mounted. Distance to screen is about 10 ft projecting on a 110' width screen. Raster set up for 16:9 about 6mm from the edge on the longest side. Green tube is about a 6, red is 7.5, blue is 9

I adjusted the raster using the amplitude control- since I dont see any other option (unlike an XG) of increasing the raster. I set it to about 6mm from the sides on teh longest edge. Centered the image using shift. Set the phase adjustments. I have measured the projector distance to the front wall to make sure its nice and square and the cross-hairs land solid on the center.

Seems like previous owner had mucked around with the astig- the dots were triangular. I set the astig so that the center points are nice and round. Left edge they are still kinda squashed big dots and the right ones small dots (I can put up a picture if it helps).

Possible problems- that I can think of
1. Its too close to the screen. I moved the projector till I got an image from my HTPC to the width of teh screen. If ist too close, it will mean that the raster has to be made smaller. Is there any other control other than amplitude for changing the ratser size ?

2. Focus coil
Guy Kuo in one of his posts says that moving the coil will make the balance of teh focus between edge and side better. Shoudl I try this ? On the PGXtra, which is teh coil ? There are 2 turning-knob things there.

3. Green tube is burnt , so wont focus
Judging from teh posts, it seems like I should still get a useable image. Right now, edges are pathetic. Green tube is like a 6 and teh raster is within burny area.

4. Scheimpflug
I think not, since then with optical focus i would have got at aleast one point where edge would be in focus, center blurry. There is no way to get teh focus right optically.

Thank you.
