I have just added a Lumagen XD scaller into an HD fury2 feeding the Barco Graphics1209/2 via port 3.
However when I select anything above 720p the projector fails to lock and displays source not available.
Unfortuneatly I did not have access to my laptop so was unable to test another high res source but i'm confident it was not the Lumagen or the HDFury
I have managed to change the Vertical and horzontal boards with known good ones and no difference. The projector makes the normal clunk and changes to the higher scanning circuits but does not display. Changing the setting of the scan change over point seemed to have no effect.
Anyone heard of the scan reversal board causing this sort of issue?

You might have to use port 5 and RGBHV. Are you using a new memory block? I think mine is on 5 or 6 for 1080P.

I've had to use port three because of the +ve -ve sync issue with bg1209/2

Could you use port 5 if you added an extron to the system?

I agree that port 3 is not an ideal input.
but do you really think it is the reason why the the projector will not lock or recognise the signal.
I do have an interface box that will sort the syncs out.

Have you checked horizontal width adjustment
if it is too high there will be no HV

Have you checked those three fragile wirewound resistors in deflection switching board?
Do you get scan file led with higher resolutions?

TBX if it were the width and it is not usually a problem at the higher scan rates. The projector would eventually go into EHT hold down which it doesn't. Or the width would bounce in and out.
ILE If it were one of those resistors loose or failed it should go immediately into Scan fail or toast the tubes. In any case those resistors are in the low scan circuit and the projector works fine there. But you are on my same thought pattern that the fault is on that board.
TBX EHT remains. I can hit the adjust key and get a grid but it is as if the sync line has been pulled.
Stupidly now I think about it I didn't dial in a high frequency internal pattern.
I'm also thinking this might be a Focus board issue as some of the timings come from that board and I didn't have a sparea the time
Thanks for your on going help guys
Any other ideas anyone

Hi Tom
less than 155Hz which is what the 1209 should max out at.
Lumagen is outputing 1080p at 50 and 60Hz (PAL and NTSC source)
24 frame rate is turned off

You really should try another source directly just to confirm. I would hate to see you doing projector repairs for a non projector problem..

I did Test the Lumagen and HD Hury on my machine before going to this unit. So I'm happy that the issue is not there BUT as you say test it with my lap top at a higher resolution just to be sure.

Guys, if the set is displaying 'source not available', then it's not the yoke board or the H width adjustment, as the HV is there, and the set is displaying an error message.
This is a sync/input/timing issue.

I don't get an error message.
I'm using port 3 I'm not expecting this to be a +ve -ve sync issue.

Curt meant the 'source not available' is the error message

This is not a good confirmation test, as the other machine may except timings that the projector wont.
I would just rather you confirm its the projector before I make any suggestions.

Send it over and I'll work on it for a while.
