I had traded for a HP Dragon "laptop" awhile back that came with Vista and Windows Media Center on it. I havn't played with it much but broke it out the other night because we were expecting some big storms in the area and I wanted to utilize the HD antenna input on the laptop to record Dancing With the Stars for my wife in case the storm knocked out the satellite signal. I hooked up some rabbit ears and with having the laptop on the 2nd floor received a great signal. I used Windows Media Center and pulled up the channel guide and with a click setup the show to record. After the show was done recording and I went to shut down the program it asked me if I wanted to burn the program to disk. I stuck in a DVD and with another click burned the show to a DVD. Microsoft seems to have done something right.

I use the win7 version and LOVE it i down graded cable to basic and hooked that and an antenna cable to the Hauppauge wintv hvr 1850 ran setup found all channels and was watching the Bears game in HD OTA and recording it just like my fancy $15 a month cable DVR did. I am working on sharing recorded shows around the house as all the PCs have win7. So I agree MS finally did something right Smile
