Hey guys, just curious. Because of the change in material, and the new bellow's ability to keep outside moisture out, I would think that the expansion inside the chamber is less than a stock bellow. If that is the case, would you recemmend putting in more glycol after the change, or still the same amount?

I have had no problems with the proper amount of Glycol. The Expansion some people see is not because of the glycol expanding with heat, it is because of the absorption of moisture. The Older bellows , like the sweating one pictured on the sales page, expand like that when cold too.

Ok, thanks. I would imagine this would keep the glycol from getting contaminated over time as well, as it would keep the bacteria and all of that out as well. Thanks!

I just ordered a set for myself. Athan reports that his second order of them is in stock.

The list of things I'll be doing to my Marquee during this refurbishment period is considerable. Redoing the bellows (the tubes are still VERY minty!) due to leakage and some glycol contamination is a top priority. And there's so much more to do.

I just got my set. I'm very familiar with the originals and have an unused example of them lying around for comparison.

The new ones actually seem to be even more precisely made than the originals. Good job!

Thanks Chris but Dale is the one who reversed engineered it and the machinist who made the mould deserve the credit.
I asked Dale if there was anything he could improve on the design so we would not need to use RTV so the bellow might be able to be removed with out cutting it up. He said he'll test the compression of the existing ridges , he said he thinks he could improve on it and he did. No RTV is needed on either the face plate side or the C-element side. And the material has a vapor
transmission 7 times better than the original.

I do have a question for you.

These obviously have a mold release chemical on them. What is the recommended cleaning agent for completely cleaning them prior to installation?

When I put mine on, I truly want to try to approach "clean room" conditions as much as I can. Which includes making the new bellow
as squeaky clean and free of any dust, dirt, or contaminants as possible, just like the LC chamber and CRT face and C element.

When I installed mine last year I rinsed them in the sink, then I used bottled spring water for a final rinse. I also did not use any silicone on the bellow or C-element,and have had zero problems.

Marquee High Performance Bellows are on sale until the end of August!

Why would I want new bellows?

1. Over time the old style bellows may leak and "sweat" glycol out into the projector which can destroy other components as glycol is a very corrosive material.

2. When you put in new tubes you need to replace the bellows as new tubes do not come with bellows. Removing the existing bellows without destroying them is nearly impossible, and the original (stock) bellows are no longer available for purchase.

Orders yours today and save:

I have 6 sets of bellows left, Still contemplating if I'll order any more after these are gone. If there is some interest, say 4 or more sets after, then I'll go ahead and make another order .
