Shoots 1080p at 30FPS or 720p at 60FPS. Has mic input. Takes SD cards. Includes software with the camera so any computer you plug the thing into will have the software. Integrate USB plug. Has electronic image stabilization.
The only drawback I have so far is that they went away from the AA batteries and went with a LI battery instead. Not that big of a deal but still annoying. |

I've got the Zi8 too. What's weird is that they used a round power plug to charge the internal battery, but then make you use a USB adapter with a proprietary cable (USB plug on one end, round yellow power plug on the other end) to charge the unit. Why not just use a standard mini-USB to charge, just like every other device? If you lose that recharger cable, it'll be hard to replace.

LOL...I thought I fried the thing within the first 10 minutes of buying it because I hooked up the USB wall charger to the USB extension cable they included and then hooked it up to the integral USB plug on the camera. I plugged it all in and the screen flickered and when i realized what I was doing I immediately unplugged it and it has worked flawlessly for about a month.
Why don't people just standardize on the damn connectors?!!
