Hey I think I have the original here somewhere. For $15 bucks why not try it?

Too bad that I'm a total geek. I doubt I'll ever see a small console with Jumpman for the Commodore 64.

jumpman rocked! I spent alot of time on the commodore and amiga in the old days. I had a former student stop by my office and drop off an old commodore 128. he had it sitting in his basement in a box for over 15 years. sucker powered right on and is working fine. I don't know what to do with it anymore but it was cool to play with it again. We used to play Legacy of the Ancients alot!

An iPhone app was just approved which allows you to run a C64 emulator. It actually runs code! I bet you could play it there...and that DOES fit in your pocket.

how do I get my code on the old floppies into the iphone? on another note, have you checked out the sweet zork games, and all the other infocom games you can play online now with the Z emulator? way cool playing zork in a browser window at work, hehe. Of course on lunch break.

I just read today that it got yanked BECAUSE they left the BASIC compiler in the app... a violation of Apple's developer agreement. Apparently, the compiler is already removed and the app resubmitted.
Here's video for anybody interested:

It doesn't matter, now given the development with the app, but man... How WOULD you do that? Is there a POP/IMAP email client for the C64? Seriously... Would there be anyway to get those old programs onto a new computer without just printing and retyping the code?!?!

What sort of connectors did the 5.25" floppy drives have? I don't even own a small floppy drive anymore so I have a few discs I just threw out.
Archiving on my miniDV tapes made me think about this as well. If I sell my HV20 I need to have these tapes backed up first otherwise I don't have a way to transfer them.

The 1541 had those round DIN connectors - 5-pin I think. It was a serial interface, IIRC.
I have the same problem with tapes, Greg. I'm at that point right now. I want to sell my big HDV camera, but I have about 50 or 60 DV and HDV tapes I need to transfer before I sell it... A LOT of work, not to mention the terabyte drives (two for RAID 1) I'll need to dedicate to the task.
This thread reminds me of a little geek dream I have. Some day if I ever have a big house and plenty of money to play to with, I'm totally building a game room. It'd have my favorite standup and cocktail arcades like Donkey Kong, Frogger, Ms. Pacman, Dig Dug, Centipede all restored and snazzy, classic consoles like Atari 2600 and Nintendo, C64, Apple ][, complete with bean bags and lava lamps... Man, that would be a riot. Total 80's childhood throw-back experience!
Then, in a big "work" room , I want some cool sh*t like a couple of linked cockpit-style driving sims, a flight sim with a panorama display and working instruments... God, I'm a total dork. If I ever win the lottery, I won't need to leave home, but UPS and FedEx will need to hire drivers just to deliver toys to my house.

I always enjoyed Space Taxi on the C64...
Had this given to me in 1999. Non-working and in rough shape. A guy with too much money had it.
I fixed and restored it and turns out I'm not a big Ms. Pacman fan.. Sold it in 01 or so. I was supposed to put the money into a Mame cabinet, but haven't quite got around to that yet.
