Me neither.

It's like ready an essay from our Prime Minister...

Please, keep the questions in plain English. Most of us are disadvantaged by speaking American English, or Australian English from birth.... not Sir Humphry Westminster Public Service English...

I think there are two general answers to the issue...something to do with colours, I think.

1. Something is really wrong. Have you set the G2s? Then set the Bias (black) so that the tubes all cut off at the same brightness setting.

2. You need a Colourimeter. My HCFR sensor cost me A$100.

This is the magical first step for any crt based display.

Generally, the bias/cutoff adjustments are for black and the darkest grays. Do this first. Use the drive adjsutments for color balancing.

It is the drive adjustments that has been causing all the problems. I've never ever touched these, I can only assume either age has taken a toll or some previous owner has messed with them.

Now I have good greyscale, dark black and brilliant white. Razz

If you have a moment could you rate my colour balance:

The colour is very slightly higher than I would normally use. Hopefully the compression applied to the video does not make it too difficult to watch. Try using the full-screen feature.

Compared to the snapshots I'd taken before tweaking: http://www.flickr.com/photos/skippyxp/ (bottom of page)

Cheers. (Go easy on me guys, heh Very Happy)

Composite video BNC. RF TV signal source.

It's General Melchett!!

Looks ok, but my monitor is a bit off.....therein lies the problem with doing it via youtube and screenshots.

But much, much, better.

I've just finished watching Sleepy Hollow (good film) and although visually quite dark I didn't seem to have any green (as before) in the blacks only at the very extreme darkest points. Skin tones have a very very tiny tint of blue/red, but without a meter I'll never be able to completely fix this.

The blue halo problem on brilliant white text (ie: credits) I tried the electronic defocus on blue, but didn't work, so settled for a sharp blue and low contrast (22-30) seems ok.

Overall I'm quite chuffed, takes ages to do, still its a learning curve. Thumbs Up
