I've just got me a nice old ECP 4101 in pretty good condition;

However once I got it hooked up, I see that the red image is rotated about 5degrees clockwise. does anyone know how to fix this? I think it was the tilt setting on my old Runco DVT991 but the ECP doesnt seem to have that function?

Thanks heaps!

Hey, those magnets are no yoke. You gotta be careful.

...Thank you, you've been a great crowd. I'll be here all week. Tip your waitress.

OK!

Now the issue is that I can converge red far enough up in the top left corner, and most of top, the red is very near its limit...

is there something mechanical that I forgot to do before getting here?

Its almost like the raster on the red tube is a little bit small, any one have any thoughts on this?>

And (theres always a list of issues when your projector cost $1.50!) the right hand side of the screen isnt
stable, it moves in and out a little (fairly quickly)
I'm not sure what thats about
I should also admit that I'm using s-vid in at the moment, I lost my rgb-hv to VGA cables when I moved house recently.

Thanks!

Hello

You will likely need to match raster heights; red and blue need to match green; it is done with a potentiometer on the sweep boards under each tube; get a long plastic screwdriver or tweak tool, this is done with the convergence nulled. I have not been near an ECP in fifteen years so that is all I remember.

Right, that makes sense- I'll check out the block diagrams and figure out which one it is, cheers!

I've tweaked the v-size now enough to be able to converge properly, so the picture converges all well, which is great! But I'm still not able to focus the corners well at all, is there something that I'm not doing that's causing this to happen?
I've done the manual corner focus, but the best I can really get is two diagonally opposite corners focusing to an alright level- its still not great by any means...

Also the projector case says that its a 4101, but the front panel says 4500- how do I tell which unit I've actually got?

Cheers!
