I saw that one. That had to look pretty bad, but hey in a bar who cared back then. It was all about disco chicks and nose candy.

I have the lens for one of those around here somewhere. You flip the wires on the yoke of the TV to invert the picture upsidedown and backwards. It was dim, not very sharp and super cool back in 1991 when we used it. Thumbs Up

Deron, you need to buy that and save it for posterity. I think you are closer to it than me.

Now all you have to do is buy it, and put it on ebay advertised as a HDTV HOME THEATER PROJECTOR, using stolen photos of Kal's HT as an example of what your living room will look like if you buy it.

TV/Projector: All of them!

That actually was my very first unit as well. Given to me by a sports bar. It was a 14" RCA TV. I mounted it to the rec room ceiling, and saw it was crap, so I took it down right away, took the TV out, reversed the yoke wires, and sold it. Smile

Hahaha! I'm picking this one up at lunch today. I guess I want it for a conversation piece.

That's awesome! Set that baby up and calibrate it; you'll have a sure contender for my old 'low end PJ shootout' screenshot thread! Thumbs Up

I mean, hell, if the primaries are good, you could get the gray tracking perfect with an HTPC and VideoEqualizer. They say colors are more important than resolution, right? Right? Very Happy

Well it certainly is authentic. Complete with icky smoke residue all over it. Cute little Sony Trinitron with pushbutton channel changing, brackets for bolting it to the ceiling too. I think it will clean up okay. Might be a waste of twenty bucks but what the hell. Now I can say I own one! WooHoo!

Well, since the craigslist post is gone, you have to take some pics of that sucker (inside and out) and post them for us wretched few who didn't get to see it...lol.

Here's what it looks like. Really just a box with a lens that can be slid front to back for focusing. It hangs on the front of a small color tv that has had the coils flipped so the image will be correct on the screen. I bet they had the brightness cranked way up on this thing.

I'll have to take it home and hook it up to a source to see if the tv even works before thinking about screenshots.

Tunnetron! Very Happy

So, did they jump on that TV to extract some more ftl from it, or is it standard aside from the screen flip?

Hey, I was made in 1978 too! Thumbs Up

I'd like to think I'm brighter and more focused, though...
