After pestering the "repairer" and replying to Pioneer with my case number, they are going to replace it.
They said they could not get it to fail but usually after a week for me it would lock up or not power on.
Imagine that.
They said I would get a SC-25. They will ship to the repairer and then I can pick it up.

I have been nice in talking with everyone and "maybe that helped", but
been without sound this time since Sept. 23rd.

Hopefully bye for now.

Interesting and thanks for the posts. I am going to have the saw resonator replaced, but no firmware update. So, we'll see if that works.

Thanks.

Don, did you get that damn receiver out yet? Laughing

I had dinner at Mario's Pizza in Berryville tonight and was going to swing by but I didn't hear back from you yet. Smile

I did my 180 mile round trip to Phoenix and picked up the new "replacement" SC-25 receiver.

It took me several days to install as I looked at all wiring and labeled it with small nylon
cable ties that you can write on.
<http://www.cabletiesplus.com/Products/4-Miniature-ID-Cable-Ties-(18-lb)__CP-4-18ID-N.aspx>

Ran through setup for the speakers and everything. It appears to be working. It sounds a bit brighter than the old 92.

Something neat is it has a USB port and a IPOD/USB button and you can put JPG files
on a memory stick and do a slide show. Picture quality was GREAT with some 4000 x 3000
pixel images.

Just as a follow-up and closure for this, Mac replaced the saw resonator and the receiver works great.

Thanks!

You know the old saying, "How much wood could a wood-chuck chuck if a wood-chuck could chuck wood?" Mr. Green

Right now, it's a whole lot! Thumbs Up

Wallace I am from Brazil and my 92TXH has the same problem. Is your receiver still working properly without the firmware upgrade? I am planing to buy resonator from Pioneer and than taking it to service. I bought mine receiver in the same store you did. Here in Brazil there is no official warranty. Thank's!!

Yes, it works great. If I were you, I would not try to fix it. The part is about the size of a pin-head. And the pin-head might actually be bigger. There are 3 solder spots on the 1 part. Good luck. Also, the location of the part if very tricky as there are more than 1 of the parts in the receiver.

macgyver655 might be able to help without having to send the entire unit. Don't know. He does know his stuff.

BTW, from what I found, this problem occurs on the 92TXH and the 94TXH. Even the units that were purchased from factory authorized dealers.
