Hi all,

Now that I've got everything up and running I just need to do one more thing - adjusting the colors (calibrating).

Can someone give me some advice?

I mean... since I'm just a noob who does this for fun - I do not have an expensive camera orso I can use.

I can find some different test-patterns / images, but I'm not sure where to start and what to do Razz

I use the Barco 701S.

Thanks,

Sven.

Kal must be doing real work so I'll answer this. Smile

You've come to the right place! Go read Kal's outstanding tutorial: https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=10457.html

You don't need an expensive camera but you WILL need something to read the color/light levels form your projector. There are several options for $100-200. Where are you located? Maybe somebody nearby could lend you a colorimeter and/or help you out.

You will also need some grayscale test patterns. You can find a free HD test-pattern disk here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=948496
You can burn the ISO to any normal SD DVD and your Blu-Ray player will read it as if it was a Blu-Ray HD disk.

I don't know of any free SD grayscale test disks, but the GetGray disk is very good for $25: http://www.calibrate.tv/
