Hello,

first of all excuse my english, i am from austria.

last year i bought my first CRT set an old VPH600 (same as VPH722) on ebay for 20USD, but never used it.

now i have also one 1252 (works perfect) and one 808s (waiting for new tubes).

so i can't do any more with these two so i went back to my 722 to play a little bit with it and maybe give it to my father as a dvd set if it works correctly.

but atm it has 2 problems.

First problem is, that the test pattern most of the time doesn't get a horizontal sync, it's running left right all the time.

but when i drive the projector via rgb 576i the sync is ok, but i can't switch to test pattern ^^

second on more important problem is that the picture is very dark in 2/3. see here:

anyone has an idea which board can cause this problem ?

and don't wonder about the bad sharpness, the convergence is setup very bad at the moment, i'll do it perfect if the projector works correctly ... i think for watching dvd's the set can perform quiet good enough.

Check the board that sits vertically under the top cover between the tubes. Clean the module contacts.

I've got a few parts/boards for this set that you can have at no charge, just cover shipping.

It might be $50 or so to ship the boards, but you are one of the last people running the 600/722. Smile Let me know if you want them.

already cleaned the module contacts and checked the boards but they looked good. maybe i'm going to resolder them or change the caps but that would cost a lot of time.

thanks for the offer curt but if got one german buddie who's going to sell me the complete electronics of a 722 with broken powersupply for 10€ + 10€ shipping. if i don't find the error i'll take it from him.

other question, the projector uses TAC3 lenses now, would HD6 enhance the sharpness significantly ?

next thing to do is to solder my sync stripper to connect a Scart DVD Player via RGBHV, to get max. input quality.
