Here is an example of one of the pm trails I had with him regarding a purchase for a dvd player with sdi mod. Trust me, there are many more. During the time of the excuses, he said: He had family medical issues; He gave me tracking numbers for stuff that was to be delivered to States not where I live; During the "excuse" period, he was getting his own title on this forum. Some excuses. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

But, like William, I am lucky in that I got the money back from paypal. Thumbs Up

Re: My credit card charge is due

do you realize by you doing that you are putting a fraud claim against me, you probably don't

PLEASE and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, NEVER contact me again for anything, if I am selling SDI DVD players for 1$ forget it, NEVER again do I wish to speak with you

you cut people BIG breaks and what do you get back? a complete paranoid psycho

Thanks

Either send the products as described in your forum post dated: 03-21-07, 07:26 PM today, and send me the FedEx tracking number that will show the item has been picked up by FedEx today, or refund the $xx.00 by April 21, 2007.

Again, if you would like to speak with me, call me at: Work - xxxxxxxxxxxx, or Home - xxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks,
Don Wallace

thanks a bunch

Once again, if you would like to call to discuss I can be reached at xxxxxxxx after 6:00 pm ET.

Put it this way. He emailed me some pictures of his 'balanced power' box. The guy can drill a cabinet, the finish looked good from the outside. I could even say the internal wiring was semi OK, from what I saw. Problem is, you don't GLUE 110 volt parts into place, I don't care what strength the epoxy is rated at. Danger danger!

I've always had an issue with people that take money up front for product that they don't have yet. I know back in my sound days, we'd secure a deposit to make sure a customer was legit and serious about dealing with us, and that was fine. But to take 100% money up front for vaporware, hardware or software isn't cool, especially when posts start up with 'where is my product?', months after the money has been paid.

Bad business in my eyes, never mind the lies he spins as to where a product is.

I think Gary truly has good intensions…He just has no technical ability and it gets him in trouble because he over committees to what he can do.

He probably doesn’t take on a job with the intention to screw someone over….It just happens when he promises more than his ability.

Mike

I would say his major problem is admitting he has a major problem.

Mike,
I am sure his committees do get him in trouble.Smile

I don't disagree with what you are saying, but I can't program like you. Wouldn't it be a little disingenious to go around selling my programming services like I could? On the surface, I would say that most should get screwed for not doing their homework on Gary. The problem with that is Alan closes down the negative feedback threads. It must be nice to never have to worry about being outed.

Now, personally I really hope Gary achieves what he wants in life which is to be a LEO. More power to him. As far as A/V, I think he oversells his knowledge.

Don,
I guess I was lucky, because I got my boards (parts) back pretty quickly. Of course, I had his money that he wanted refunded.

Curt,
I seem to remember the pics. I kind of fell out of that thread, as Gary seemed to be chum in a pool of sharks.Smile

So, does he take the money up front and then buy the parts/players?

Agreed.

Here are some pics of the product:

Hey guys

I recently had a customer contact me inquiring about a custom rack mount power conditioner, I whipped him something up with a massive 15amp(+ 20%) balanced transformer

I under spec all transformers by 40% to ensure cool operation and plenty of overhead, so this model has a 13amp circuit breaker and 1560 watts of available power, this model featured a custom 12v trigger section with 4 controlled outlets and dual polarity LED status, 3/8 think aluminum rack face with custom engraving and silver anodizing, dual front volt meters, a front mounted outlet and every outlet fitted with high-end capacitors & RFI filters, weight = 60lbs Thumbs Up

It looks pretty nice from the outside (I helped him with how to take product pictures - they look much better than how they used to look) but I have to agree with Curt that you don't velcro or glue in wall style transformers/power supplies in a box. In fact, you shouldn't even use them inside for power - especially if you're selling the product to customers. What you should be using is a real power supply, like this:

These small variable power supplies cost $7.50 which *includes* shipping so they're dirt cheap. You could build you own for slightly less if you had the parts and means to etch boards but for that price why bother. These are meant to be installed inside a box/cabinet. I use two of them in my brewing control panel to drive the panel ammeter/voltmeter which is exactly what Gary was using the wall style power power supplies for in his box.

Then there's the whole issue of liability from selling something that plugs into the wall that has zero certification or safety rating. I would never sell anything like this myself but he doesn't seem to care or mind.

What was this "Balanced Power" box supposed to do? Looks like maybe just an isolation transformer.

Gary was over his head, and then he deluded himself into thinking he was being attacked.... kinda like a certain woman in Alaska....

forget that.

I'm glad Gary is gone. I think that he and the "A" site deserve each other.

Umm... Yeah, OK, John. The only difference is Gary actually took people's money, didn't deliver, and f*ck*** sh*t up. That "certain woman" in Alaska, while definitely being in over her head, never had a chance to even START doing anything (unless you consider talking doing something) before she was indeed attacked.

Ah, now I remember why I haven't been reading this forum much lately. I come here to get away from this stuff.

This coming from a person with a Lindsay Lohan avatar? Hahahahahaha!

I take back my comments about his wiring, that's a mess too.

I'm completely in the dark about the woman in Alaska though, what did I miss?
