Interesting, I archived that movie without issue. Try using AnyDVD and copy the disk to the hard drive then rip it from there. I've see a few disks that are marginal and eac3to will error out without any warning. The AnyDVD copy seems to be a bit more forgiving.

I just started using this util and it seems like a neat one.
However, I cannot get the "Input stream files" to show anything. After analzying I see several playlists and I can choose them and "Add Batch" and when I run it, I get a mkv as I should. This is great, but it would be even better if I could choose the streams I like. I am running win XP and I think I have all the latest version of the applications needed (except haali where I have the "recommended" version.
Any idea?

Mike I'm having this problem:
I've just rebuilt my PC onto SSD (Yay!!) and I'm having trouble with your GUI (0.9.1.18).
The playlists aren't appearing, There is nothing in the playlist window, and the "add batch" and "command line" buttons are not available.
The input stream files appear, and picking a stream and playing it works.
Eac3to works in a command line window, as does the "HDStreamExtractor " gui. I've installed .NET (although I'm on W7 x64 and I don't think I needed to).
I'm stuck. Any ideas? I've removed and reinstalled a number of times.

Are you using Run As Administrator Option? It seems with 64 bit you need to. I'm not sure why.

Hi,
First of all thanks for this nice tool.
Is there any way to select the audio track and subtitles that we want to extract instead of taking all the tracks in the stream file?
I know that I can do it by editing the command but then I need to process manually all subtitles and merge the file manually.
Thanks.

It should only demux the main audio track, in the format selected in the options dialog. All subtitle tracks are extracted just incase the the movie contains forced subtitle tracks. There is no way I know of to tell if the subtitle tracks are forced prior to demuxing to we demux all in the selected language then test for forced subtitles.

Mike,
First thanks for the program. Made my life infinitely easier. First a comment then question. I have found that when converting to MKVs using the core only option in sound and the latest version of mkvmerge (4.4.), there was an inconsistency where some files would run through mkvmerge others would start and then end prematurely. As a result, i would get like 10mb mkv files. I easily fixed this by unchecking the delete work files after mkvmerge. No idea why this worked. Not sure if others have had same issue but FYI.
Other question is wishful thinking but i will ask anyway. This program works great on blu rays. I assume there is no way to make it work on DVDs? I have not found a program that does the auto detection and conversion of dvd forced subtitles and i thought if there was a way to make this work for DVDs it would be amazing. I have over 200 dvds in my collection and have not figured out how to easily convert them including the forced subtitles. I ultimately go from MKV to m4v.
Anyway really just wanted to post and say thank you.

Sorry I missed your post. That 1st issue is very odd...I'm way behind on my MKV merge updates. I haven't see a reason to update so I've kept well enought alone. I also rip everything to FLAC so I probably would not have seen the issue anyway. I'm running really tight on server space at the moment and I have another drive ordered that will help resolve that issue so I can do some testing.
By chance what movie did you see that on and is it repeatable does it just happen randomly?
In regards to DVD, I have used MakeMKV for the one DVD I ripped and it seemed to work very well, it was a full subtitled film so there wasn't an issue with detection. I probably won't stick my neck out and say I would create a version for DVD's. But who knows? I quit buying DVD's about 6 years ago waiting for HD Formats so my collection is pretty slim. I've got a big project I'm working on that should be wrapped up by the 1st of the year..Then I will have more time to but back into this project.

Hi All first post in the forums.
Mike, I have used the program for a while and I have to say thanks for a great app. it's quick and painless on XP - LOL.
I have read through all 23 pages of the thread here. I know you are busy on another app currently but if you happen to check in here. I am just into Win7 pro 64 and I have tried all I can think of. I figure out the uac/admin issue and currently I have it disabled. I have all the latest program installed albeit, eac3t0 runs from my backup drive and bdsup is in my eac3to folder, mkvtoolnix is in c:/program files (x86).
The issue is that I can analyze the disk, add the batch, preview/play the file. eac3to will run and rip all the associated files to my backup folder as well. (default delete work files is disabled), when it gets to starting mkvmerge the program says it is running loads up the command line and then instantly says that mkvmerge is completed. it gives no errors at all nor a log that I can find, but the final file is not in the backup folder. I have tried several older version of haali and mkvtoolnix with the same results.
I can launch mkvmergegui from the desktop and I can run it with all the files created by eac3to in that session and it will create the final merged file no problem including chapters and subs.
Any Ideas.
Thanks again for the great app. I have googled this issue for some time and I am stumped...
rgds,
Dave

Dave,
In the shortcut on the compatibility tab do you have "Run the program as an Administrator" checked?

Mike,
Thanks for the reply, sorry I would have replied sooner I have been configuring this system with eyefinity and the computer room is in shambles right now.
Yes run as admin is checked in that tab, I also have gone into the mkvtoolnix directory and tried checking the same tab for all mkv*.* exe files as a test and that makes no difference; it still has the same issue. In fact after googling I have tried to put the same files in one directory with no luck, just a bunch of different tests and they all result in no final file.
On another note, I run media companion from my server on windows 7 and it has a feature that allows me to use ffmpeg to cature a screenshot from a video mostly for TV shows, everytime I capture a screenshot windows pops up a window asking me if I want to run ffmpeg.exe and I have to say yes.
One more example if I setup a queue with Handbrake with one or more files in it to run as batch about every two file when handbrake is about to start encoding the next file W7 pops up and says handbrake cli.exe has a propblem and cannot continue, I just canel the window and it continues on encoding.
I am wondering if I should just reinstall again from scratch, do you have a rec. way to install the req'd programs in order.
Thanks for the help.
rgds,
Dave

Mike,
An update to this, I am sorry if the issue was mentioned throughout the thread but here goes. It seems that the mkvmerge line is wrong and that is what is crashing mkvmerge cli.
I just did knight and day blu and it ran eac3t0 fine created the files then instantly opened and closed mkvmerge. I copied the mkvmerge command line and pasted it into a command prompt window and voila.
The first error was the "command line arguments" (had to remove it) and then the second error was that mkvmerge could not parse the chapter file and when I looked at the command line I noticed the chapters directory was not correct as soon as I fixed that it ran from the command line and is creating the file currently. the directory should have been d:\temp.movie.files\knight - Chapters.txt and it was trying to open d:\temp - Chapters.txt from the original command line from the rip.
I hope this is clear enough...
Thanks,
Dave

I'll try it with the latest version of MKVMerge and see what's going on. I was still running mkvmerge 4.0.0.0 and it worked fine on Knight and Day.
Can you post the eac3to & the GUI log for Knight and Day if you have time?
Thanks!
Mike

Mike,
It does it on every movie, I am picking up salt today and I will post that log this evening. when it is complete. The log files should be in the same directory as the ripped files I presume.
Thanks,
Dave

Mike,
I've been using Another EAC3to GUI for a few months and it has been working pretty well for me. I've had problems with 1080i video and have used HdBrStreamExtractor as an alternative tool for these situations, but am still hoping 1080i will work with your app.
I have also run into a new situation with another concert Blu-ray disc I bought my wife for Xmas. It is 'Michael Buble Meets Madison Square Garden" and when I select the stream path '\BDMC\STREAM' and pick the 'Analyze' button, a single playlist appears in the Playlists window. It shows there are 16 chapters, h264.AVC video, RAW/PCM, English, stereo, 48kHz and DTS Master Audio, multi-channel, 48kHz audio. If I select 'Add Batch' and then 'Run All', it automatically selects only the stereo track. Since I want the multichannel track, I have to use the command line method.
Not a big deal, but... before using mkvmerge to generate my MKV file, I like to edit the chapter file and enter chapter names if possible. I especially like to enter the song names for an audio performance. Using the booklet, I can usually figure out what song name matches a chapter. In the case of this Blu-ray, there are many chapters with just dialog and there are a couple songs that are listed in the booklet, but are not in the playlist. What I figured out was a couple of the songs listed in the booklet are not part of the main performance, but they can be found in the 'Input Stream Files' list. Using the 'right-arrow' button, I can move these streams into the 'Source Stream Files' list, but there doesn't seem to be anyway to add these to a batch.
Is there a way to add m2ts files in the input stream files list so they are included and processed by EAC3to?

Currently there is not...I did have that in mind when I originally wrote the app...However I haven't had time to implement it.
