I have a Sherwood BDP 5003 connected to a Yamaha RX-V665 with a short HDMI cable. From the reciever I have a blue jeans HDMI 30' cable to the Gamma Boost and HD FuryII latest model then into the projector via the adapter cable (RGBHV).
I can to get to the service astig adjustment but it won't let me use it. How do I get to around this?
I have adjusted the test patterns, not perfect yet but much better that when I first turned it on. The main question I have now is when I put in a movie the picture shifts to the left off screen about 8-10" and I have a horrible vertical stripe on the right side that looks much lighter in color that the rest of the picture and looks to be a reflection of something rather than part of the picture. How do I deal with this?
Thanks, Rick

Are you running 1080p? If so an XG can't handle standard 1080p sync timings...Try using 720p or 1080i.

Service passcode is 3151, but you must have set a user password first, or it won't work.

You must set up an entry for the resolution your dvd player is sending and save it.

Yes I was running 1080P, I tried 1080i and picture is much better but it is still shifted to the left but only by about 4" instead of 8". At 720p the image is worse.

Curt, a lot of good info, I have read it at least 10 times but nowhere does it say how to set the frequency or resolution.
The sync was set to AUTO is that right or should it be set at G SYNC or TRI SYNC?
The frequency is set at 14.92 and 33.84, I don't know where those numbers came from.
I tried to copy the frequency's from another setting that was 60.07 and 74.71 and ended up erasing 6 hours worth of work and frequency didn't change
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't "set" the frequency, it is simply the result of the resolution of the signal you are sending the projector. What you do is create a memory to remember the settings that are particular to the resolution you are using. With an XG, you can CHOOSE to have more than one memory/frequency*(resolution) so that you can have different setups for the same frequency. This is handy as anamorphic presentations at a given resolution are the same frequency as the same resolution in a non anamorphic presentation. Therefore, it can be beneficial to have two memories, which are for the same frequency, but setup different to accommodate an anamorphic squeeze image and a non-anamorphic squeeze image. Less common today with the use of HTPC's and scalers, but still useful.
Just use AUTO synch, that way the projector chooses the correct synch settings for each signal. There is no advantage to changing this on an NEC.

It's in VIDEO mode.
Press 1 on the remote to activate the RGBHV input.
SYNC should be on Auto.

I'll check the mode setting when I get back into town. Is it possible for the Video to output when the RGBHV is the only thing that is hooked up?

It is in RGB mode and I used the screen shift to move the image over. Now I am getting a much better picture.
I have the convergence set up well but when I turn on the Blu Ray player the convergence on the left side of the sceen gets messed up slightly. Is there a way to readjust the convergence for the signal the PJ is seeing? I really don't know if am even asking the right question.

Umm...the source needs to be on BEFORE you converge.
You will need to create a memory input for each source/signal you send to the projector.
You can let the XG do that itself (it saves in the 50's), but it's better to create and name a memory slot down at or near slot 1 - so you know what is going on when you feed it different signals.
