Gday,
Thanks everyone for your help with the G90 shipping info. I have received the PJ but due to time, space and will be moving house soon I figured I would leave the PJ in its crate for transportation in the near future. I have however removed the crate top and sides and plugged in the PJ to ensure everything was all OK. I also checked the date stamp of the Dallas chip and found out it was 22nd week of 1999. being about the 10 year limit I have read so much about I ordered some dallas chips and a eprom programmer. I followed the instructions for dumping and flashing a new chip however was unsuccessful and got the Green error 30. I used the S202 reset button to format my new Dallas chip realising that I would lose all the settings. I didn't think this would be much of a problem as the PJ will need to be setup again as I am sure my setup/installation will be totally different from its previous installation/setup.
So after re initializing my Dallas chip the PJ now turns on and there are no error codes showing YAY!!! . I did however turn on the PJ and for my own curiosity very quickly and very roughly adjusted the red green and blue tube focus with the 2 nuts on top of each lens and now to my issue..........
When focusing the green tube on the cross hair pattern I notice that all the horizontal lines focus great and look very crisp unfortunately the vertical do not seem to change focus at all. without taking a snap shot of the problem ( i will if need be) it is best explained with my drawing below
What I should get is the GOOD file but what I get is the BAD file. Can anyone explain this and what setting fixes this?
Much appreciated.
Regards

To me that looks like you need to work on the astig.

Correct. Also, lesson learned, esp with the G90, I would NOT do Dallas chip and EPROM messing around unless the set fails. most Dallas chips last 15-20 years, and with the Ya board being somewhat problematic in the first place, and no spare parts being out there, you're playing with fire every time you dive into it.

Thanks. So the settings for the astig were stored in the dallas chip that I have since lost by replacing it. Thats not so bad then. I thought that it was something wrong with the tube.
cheers.
