So looks like best practice for a PJ restoration (tear-apart and rebuild) wrt cleaning is:

1) Spray off with board, heat fins, etc with a cleaner/degreaser like ElectrO-WasH PR [no idea why they capitalize those letters]
2) Clean contacts with a deoxidizer like Deoxit D5
- pull ICs and clean pins with toothbrush, gently
3) Seal contacts with a sealant like Stabilant 22
- apply sealant with brush into IC sockets and onto pins
4) Come back later (if handy) with Q-tip and alcohol to wipe off any extraneous dust-collecting residues, if you are maniacal.

Any thoughts?
Matt

It is called JAX (High-Tech) Electrical Contact cleaner.

Good luck.
