Hey guys!

I own a a marquee 9500 lc ultra. And its has been working flawlessly for a year or so. Today when i turned on my crt it started messing up. The only thing that turned on was the red tube and only for about 5 seconds, until the picture turns black and then it start over and over again. what the heck is going on?

Hello

If it comes in and out of focus then you probably have a high voltage arcing problem. It could be the high voltage splitter, and anode cable where it attaches to the tube, if so you would hear a squealing noise. If silent, it is likely the hvps.

Wow, with all these Marquee problems I'm glad I sold mine, got out, and bought the G70 Twisted Evil Wink

In all seriousness though I would start by checking the mini rca connectors both on the VIM and on the neckboards, I had cold solder joints on my VIM that caused the same problem, if the focus is drifting I would also check the HV section.

Good luck Smile

Well its not making a squelling sound. so it must be the hvps. What do I do to fix the problem?

put your on the front half of the side panel, next to the Blue tube/lens. Do you hear a ticking sound, like one of those battery powered BBQ igniters?

Trust me, my day has come and gone more time then I'd like to think about. I had a Barco that blew up a whole pile of boards, a Marquee that blew a HVPS and has VIM issues, and I've had the power supply boards in my G70 repaired after an out of the blue failure.

Maybe I need an Ampro... Rolling Eyes Thumbs Up

it's internal arcing ion the HVPS, not repairable but Curt has plenty of them. Also a good chance to let me upgrade the rest of the machine for better reliability and performance Wink
