Hello,
I have been having some wierd problems over the last few months on my marquee and I'm ready to sell all its parts over to curt. There was no picture/light coming from the lenses. The red tube was bleeding slowly. The HVPS had been changed for a new one. Everyone were giving up, not knowing how to fix it.
I had some time yesterday to take the lenses off and shoot picures of the tubes faces to show curt, btw, there was no wear i could see. I had some more time so i delve a little deeper into the projector. I took out and reseated a few cards. I drained out some liquid from the red tube. The advise here about wearing goggles is good advise, http://www.curtpalme.com/Bleeding_CRT_Tubes1.shtm
I found the red neck board cover was loose and the ground wires weren't screwed on properly. I pulled the CLM and reseated both daughter cards and 1 chip.
Now for the first time in 3/4 months there is light when I turn the marquee on, which is great, but it is the red tube flashing on & off like an ambulance siren
There are no warning LEDS lit on the back.
Whats gone wrong??
thanks,
marc

First of all, is the projector new to you or have you had it working properly at some point and it just died.
I think you can get this symptom if you have a lug installed in place of a panasonic tube and have the g2 wire on the wrong pin. You might want to check what kind of tubes are in the unit.
You might also want to check the neck cards to see if pin 6 has been drilled out.
Of course if you have had it working properly and have not changed tubes or altered neck cards and wiring, the above would not apply.
I WOULD NOT CHANGE THE LOCATION OF THE G2 WIRE WITHOUT KNOWING THE EXACT PINOUT AND OR NECK CARD MODS.

See this.....Also use rubber gloves when cleaning up a glycol spill. It is absorbed through the skin !

ive had this projector for 3 years as new with occasional problems. but for the past year it was working fine.
and yes, i do know how greek families are, maybe next time you are over here
I will have another look at the neck boards, it might of been knocked when i was trying to put back the cover. It was a bit tricky with the side panel still in place. I think i should take it off, is there a link explaining how to take it off, ive never done it before.
It is ceiling mounted, so, no, the boards are clean

I don't beleive it, but I have fixed it, my Marquee is now working. I think what really solved the problem was taking out the CLM and reseating the daughter boards, so simple, amazing.
I found the white cable going into one of the pins on the center of the neck board had come out. I just put it back into the same position as I saw on the green tube and seeing this picture http://www.curtpalme.com/images/MarqueeTeardown_43.jpg
I will keep an eye on the bleeding tube, but i'm hoping it is fixed since I relieved the pressure.
My only problem now is my Crystalio 2300 is not starting up, it's just freezing on startup, but that is for another forum.
THANK YOU for all your help, and Athanasios the next time you're in greece you are always welcome to drop by

Sorry, I ignored this thread, not sure why. MY first guess would have been a white wire that came off the G2 pin. Good to see you got it going, I guess I'm not making an offer on your tubes!

you guess right on both accounts. I dont want to sell out just yet
now i just need to sort out my video processor that wont startup. Do you think theres any chance it is sending a bad signal that make the CLM freeze up....
Anyway, Thanks alot for your Help
